  For the months of October and November, the LEPE Labs will focus on Gen Z and the changing student landscape.  On October 26th, we will discuss and put into practice Dr. David Yeager's research and frameworks regarding the generational friction between older leaders and young adults, arguing that standard management strategies often fail because they ignore the fundamental developmental drives of youth.  Participants can read the book, listen to the audiobook, watch a presentation by Dr. Yeager or just review the basic frameworks in an AI generated summary of 10 to 25:  The Science of Motivating Young People.  We'll discuss and apply his findings and frameworks (the Respect Gap, Wise Feedback, rules vs. rationale, setting expectations) to experiential learning involving clients.

  The Next Generation of Experiential Learning with a discussion on how structural scaffolding can curb disengagement in ambiguous, co-curricular project work.
  
  Amy Pakes and Megan Ehrisman, the Experiential Learning team at the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin, will lay out the structural changes they've made over the last five years to catch disengagement early and keep their student teams invested.
  
  They'll share concepts their team has built and refined, both from a programmatic design and day-to-day operations angle.
